This wasn't just an error or ommission, but it was actually Taylor's team that requested her album be yanked from the service. The reason for this according to her record label is that she didn't want to embarrass any of her fans who legally purchased it. In the week her album was released, she sold 1.3 million copies, so there were lots of fans that she was trying to protect from being embarrassed.

She reasoned that no "superfan" who purchased her album should be embarrassed by being asked why they would purchase an album when they can just listen to it for free on Spotify.

Indirectly though, it may be a warning to streaming music services that their business model isn't being fair to artists. An artist like Swift can generate millions of listens to any of her songs, but the artists are generally compensated in the vicinity of between $0.006 and $0.0084 per song streamed according to a Rolling Stone article. Doesn't add to much.

Other artists have called out these services in the past and Taylor is just the next in what will become an even lengthier line in months to come.

Who is "Blank Space" About - Connor Kennedy?

By now you've no doubt seen Taylor's new video "Blank Space" and like most of Taylor's fans it left you wondering who is this video about?

In the video Taylor plays a bit of a crazy girlfriend as she yells, screams, freaks out, and even pulls an Elin Nordegren and attacks a car with a golf club. But was her turn as the crazy girlfriend just a work of fiction or pulling inspiration from her real life. The singer really hasn't dropped any hints that it was about someone from her personal life, but that hasn't stopped online speculation.

One website in particular went so far as to break down the "hints" in the video to suggest that Taylor's ex, Connor Kennedy, is the man being depicted.

It certainly may be a stretch, but it's always fun to speculate!

Taylor Gets Restraining Order Against Man Who Believes He's Married to Her

Taylor has been going through a bit of a scary ordeal recently thanks to a man who believes he's married to her. In addition to visiting both of Taylor's homes in L.A. and Nashville, he's also been allegedly posting messages online that are of a threatening nature. One in particular read: "Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage." Scary stuff. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Superior Court ordered Timothy Sweet to stay away from Taylor for 3 years. While neither Sweet nor Taylor showed up in court, it must grant Swift some comfort in knowing the restraining order is put in place. She submit a statement to the court that stated that Sweet's action were "extremely distressing" to her and her family. It's a crazy world out there - stay safe Taylor!

Taylor's "For Your Consideration" Video for ACMs

Taylor is trying to drum up some last minute support in her bid for both the "Entertainer of the Year" and the "Female Vocalist of the Year" at the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards by putting together a "For Your Consideration" video.  In typical Taylor style the video contains more funny business than self promotion but still gets the message across.



She's going to face some tough competition in both categories.  In the Entertainer of the Year category she's up against Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and George Strait.  In the Female Vocalist of the Year she's facing Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Carrie Underwood.

The 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards are being hosted by Blake Shelon and Luke Bryant and will air on CBS at 8pm EST on Sunday, April 6th.

Taylor and the Kennedys

Day to day life for celebrities typically include having to deny weird and wild rumors about who they're dating, what plastic surgery they supposedly had and other crazy rumors.  Celeb life also tends to include the occasional stalker if you happen to be a good looking celebrity.

But for Taylor Swift these days, she’s fighting off both crazy rumors and stalking claims - but with an even weirder twist.  There are rumors swirling on the internet that she is the one who is doing the “stalking” and it’s the famous American family the Kennedys that she’s obsessed with.

But where are all these rumors coming from.

Lets start with who’s she’s been dating.  Earlier in 2012, she was rumored to be dating Patrick Schwarzenegger whose mother, Maria Shriver, is the niece of former President John F. Kennedy.  More recently, Taylor’s been dating Connor Kennedy, Patrick’s second cousin and the son of Robert Kennedy Jr.

But dating a couple of people with the same bloodlines isn’t enough to call someone a stalker.  What else could be causing these idiotic claims?

How about the more recent rumor that a couple of weeks ago, Taylor decided to crash the wedding of Connor’s cousin, Kyle Kennedy, and was promptly thrown out of the reception.  Although this sounds like a story that could keep the celebrity gossip machine churning for weeks on end, there’s still no definite word on what happened.  Taylor’s camp is saying everything went fine at the reception, but Gifford Kennedy claims she asked Connor and Taylor to leave twice as their presence was causing a commotion.

Finally, there’s the rumor that Taylor bought a house across the street from Ethel Kennedy, who is the widow of Robert F. Kennedy.  This is another rumor that the Swift camp have denied, but where these stories are originating are anyone’s guess.

Although there may be absolutely no truth to some of these wilder rumors, they certainly seem to be taking the luster off Taylor’s squeaky clean image.  The idea that she would be obsessed with a family to the point where she seems to be doing these things seems unimaginable but I guess you never know what the pressures of stardom could cause an otherwise sensible young woman to do.

Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Working on Colab

Taylor has been spending some time recently with an up-and-coming musical force from the U.K. in Ed Sheeran.  The two have been working on some new material which may be featured on a new album from Taylor.

For those of you who don't know who Sheeran is, he's won a couple of Brit awards and actually collaborated with One Direction on a few of the songs on their debut album.

Judging by a couple of tweets from the duo, they seem to be hitting it off pretty well, so here's hoping there's some good material to come out of these cheeseburger eating, scribling on guitars songwriting sessions.

Taylor nominated for THREE GRAMMY'S!

Taylor Swift followed up on her big night at the American Music Awards (where she took home three awards including Artist of the Year) with three nominations this morning for the 54th GRAMMY awards.

Taylor was nominated in three country music categories including Best Country Album for "Speak Now," Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Country Song both for her song "Mean."

Taylor's a super girl...but will not be "Supergirl"

There's been some rumors floating around on the internet over the past little while about a possible "Supergirl" movie being in the works with whispers of Taylor Swift being cast in the lead role. Unfortunately for all you Taylor fans out there, there is absolutely no truth to these rumors.

In fact, it seems as if there is no "Supergirl" movie in the works at all. My question to you is would you go see a movie just because Taylor was in the lead role?

Taylor's Big Birthday Gift

Taylor celebrated her 20th birthday last night with friends, but there was a big splash made by a $250,000 gift. But there was a big twist with the gift itself. The generous gift wasn't to Taylor, but rather from Taylor to various schools across the country that she's either attended or worked with.

According to reports, the big gift will go towards funding teachers' salaries as well as providing school resources. Hopefully this may inspire some of her own fans to reflect on how they can help make the world a better place!

Taylor Swift Pranks Keith Urban - Video

I know this is a little late, but Taylor seems to be quite the prankster on her tours. After her highly popular prank on Brad Paisley on her last tour, she took aim at Keith Urban in Kansas City recently.

As Keith and his band began playing "Kiss a Girl", Taylor and members of her band came on stage dressed in full Kiss costumes and joined in on the song. Check out the video. Like all of you I'm sure, I would have LOVED to have been at this concert!!!

Who is Taylor Swift's Drew from "Teardrops on my Guitar"

In looking at the traffic to this site, it seems as though a lot of the Taylor Swift info people are searching for is regarding who is Drew in Taylor's "Teardrops on my Guitar" song.

Well, Drew is actually a real person that Taylor was friends with in high school. The back story is that Taylor had a crush on Drew, but he had a girlfriend. She never did tell him her feelings, but he's probably put it together since her best selling album was released.

Joe Jonas takes shot at Taylor Swift

Seems like Joe Jonas has a little trouble letting go of the past. The Jonas Brothers played in Tulsa, Oklahoma last night and it seems Joe improvised on a line in their song "Much Better".

The original lyrics to the song are "I get a rep for breakin' hearts; Now I'm done with superstars; And all the tears on her guitar." On Monday night, Joe decided to stir the long simmered pot by singing "Now I'm done with country stars" in place of "Now I'm done with superstars."

Merry Christmas and Congrats Taylor!

It's been quiet on this site for quite some time, but I figured Christmas Day would be as good a time as any to start posting again. And in my posting absence has Taylor's star ever risen. According to all the industry reports, Billboard.com in particular, Taylor's new album "Fearless" is spending it's third consecutive week at number 1 on their charts.

To give you a better idea of what that means, Nielsen Soundscan is reporting that 330,000 copies of Fearless were sold in the week ending December 21. Merry Christmas indeed! If you were lucky enough to have gotten her new CD for Christmas, let us know in the poll to the right.

Taylor Show in Joliet, Illinois

I was just reading a piece in the Chicago Tribune about Taylor Swift, and was it ever eye opening. A lot of people wonder what Taylor's like in person, and I've even read numerous posts online about she might be less than nice with her fan base. But after reading this article, it's hard to believe she's anything but nice.

The part of the article that made my jaw drop was:

The last song of the night was the clean-but-still-rowdy version of Swift's newest single, 'Picture To Burn.' After which she promised to 'sign every single autograph for everyone in here. And she did, staying in the lobby from 9:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. to do so.

How many other Grammy nominated artists would you think would stick around for 3.5 hours after their show to sign autographs for their fans. Taylor truly is one of a kind.

And for those of you wondering, it seems like Taylor is including an acoustic version of Rihanna's hit "Umbrella" in all her live concerts.

Taylor Swift Collaborations

I read some exciting news for Taylor Swift fans this morning about some upcoming material and collaborations that are in the works. I'm sure you all know that Taylor is working away on her second album as we speak, but the Kansas City Star is reporting that Taylor's new disc will feature a single featuring Colbie Caillat, who is best known for the hit "Bubbly."

This duet is slated to be included on Taylor's new disc. In the meantime, Taylor is also lending a hand (or voice) on her friend's new release. Taylor and Kellie Pickler have been spending some time in the recording studio together to record a duet for Pickler's new CD.

No word yet on the exact release date for Taylor's new CD.

Gridiron Bash Lineup

I told you earlier this month about Taylor Swift playing in the music festival known as the Gridiron Bash, taking place on April 18-19, but I figured I would pass along the rest of the lineup for the show.

Taylor Swift is Platinum!

The Recording Industry Association of America has officially certified Taylor Swift’s hit single “Teardrops on My Guitar” as a digital Platinum single. What this means is that 1 million of you have (legally) download the song.

This certification includes downloads from iTunes as well as ringtone downloads.

In any case, since the certification’s inception in 2004, only 3 other country artists have achieved this massive milestone, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, and the Dixie Chicks.

Taylor also received a little more good news as her third single, “Our Song”, was certified as a Gold, as it has been download over 500,000 times.
